Dopo lunghissimo tempo siamo finalmente riusciti a inserire nella pagina Discography i testi delle nostre canzoni. Dateci un'occhiata, se vi interessa quello che abbiamo da dire!
Il disco è nella fase degli ultimi ritocchi. Appena sarà finito ci occuperemo dell'artwork e della ricerca di un'etichetta che lo stampi e lo distribuisca (fatevi avanti!!!).
Vi segnaliamo l'ultimo concerto prima dell'estate: un bellissimo festival all'aperto organizzato da Il Sottosuono il 25 luglio a La Lucciola Pub a Pomezia (RM). Tra i vari artisti con cui condivideremo il palco ci sarà anche Reeks, che sta curando la produzione del nostro disco.
After a really long time we finally put the lyrics for our songs online. Read them in the Discography page, if you wanna know what we have to say!
The recording process is really close to its end. As soon as the album's done we will take care of the artwork and we'll look for a label who may want to print and release it (come on, show yourself up!!!).
Our last concert before the summer will be at a beautiful outdoor festival organized by Il Sottosuono on July 25th at La Lucciola Pub in Pomezia (RM). Among the artists with whom we'll share the stage is Reeks, who is curating the production of our album.

disco procede con calma e a gonfie vele. Appena abbiamo qualcosa di

Hi there! E' un po' che non ci facciamo vivi da queste parti, visto che
negli ultimi mesi siamo stati molto occupati a suonare in giro per
Roma. A questo proposito potete vedere le foto del concerto con cui abbiamo inaugurato il 2010 sabato 2 gennaio all'Init.
La
GRANDE notizia è che il 15 febbraio entreremo all'Hombrelobo di Roma
per registrare il nostro primo album. Renderemo noti i dettagli appena
li avremo.

Hi there! It's been a
long time... We've spended the last months playing our music in a lot
of places here in Roma. Talking about that you can see some photos from the gig with which we have started 2010 on saturday January 2nd at Init.
The
BIG news is that on February 15th we will enter Hombrelobo in Roma to
record our first album. Details comin' as soon as we have them.

A questo indirizzo e nella pagina Music di questo sito trovate il video di "The Long Goodbye", il nostro primo video, la cui regia e produzione sono state curate nientemeno che dal nostro Fabio Luppi, in collaborazione con la Transplant Tree. Per l'occasione la canzone è stata riregistrata nello studio di Pierluigi Coggio a Latina nel febbraio di quest'anno. Questo è solo il primo passo: entro l'anno, speriamo, registreremo altri brani, alcuni più vecchi, altri più nuovi, che andranno a comporre il nostro primo album. Altre notizie arriveranno in un futuro non lontano.
Stasera suoneremo all'Angel's Beer Pub in zona Tor Vergata a Roma, dividendo il palco con i Weeping The Black. Speriamo di vedervi lì!
You can find here and in the Music section of this website the video for "The Long Goodbye", our first video, directed and produced by none other than our Fabio Luppi with Transplant Tree. For the occasion the song has been re-recorded at Pierluigi Coggio's studio in Latina during last February. This is only our first step: within this year, at least we hope so, we will record more songs, some older, some newer, that will be included in our first album. More news coming soon.
Tonight we will play at Angel's Beer Pub in Rome, sharing the stage with Weeping The Black. Hope to see you there!

Molti concerti in questi giorni! Giovedì 7 maggio abbiamo suonato alla Notte Bianca dell'Onda, davanti alla Facoltà di Scienze Politiche dell'Università La Sapienza con, fra gli altri, i meravigliosi Soul Of The Cave e gli splendidi KamchatKa.
Mercoledì 13 apriremo il concerto degli americani Cheer-Accident, un eccezionale gruppo prog con oltre 20 anni di carriera alle spalle, al Sinister Noise Club, nell'ambito dello Stoned Hand Of Doom.
Giovedì 14, infine, divideremo con i Raumplan (con Federico in veste di batterista!) il palco del 56th Street.
Speriamo di vedervi sotto il palco!
Lots of gigs during these days! On Thursday the 7th of May we played at Notte Bianca dell'Onda (litterally that's the "White Night of the Wave", the Wave is the Italian Student Movement), in front of the Faculty of Political Sciences of La Sapienza University. Our friends Soul Of The Cave and KamchatKa also appeared.
On Wednesday the 13th we'll open for Cheer-Accident, a great American prog band with a career that spans over 20 years, at Sinister Noise Club, during the Stoned Hand Of Doom Festival.
Finally, on Thursday the 14th we will share the stage with Raumplan (whose drummer is our Federico) at 56th Street.
We hope to see you under the stage!

Hello! Vi dobbiamo un po' di (vecchie) notizie...
Il 9 dicembre abbiamo suonato al Mads in una delle serate "Un palco per tutti" organizzate da MarteLive. Staremo a vedere che sorprese ci riserverà il concorso.
Il 13 dicembre Andrea e Federico sono stati a Genova, ospiti in veste acustica di una bellissima serata di beneficenza per i bambini del Brasile.
Nella sezione Photos, e precisamente qui, trovate le immagini del concerto che abbiamo fatto al Sinister Noise del 25 novembre, nella splendida serata che abbiamo diviso con i Soul Of The
Cave e i Deville.
Il 2009 sarà un anno importante e intenso per noi. Contiamo di rifarci vivi al più presto con notizie più importanti e interessanti. Intanto buone vacanze!

On the 9th of December we played at Mads in a gig organized by MarteLive. Let's see if the competition will bring us some surprises.
On the 13th of December Andrea and Federico went to Genova and played an acoustic show as guests in a charity evening for the children of Brasil.
In the Photos section, precisely here, you can find the pictures of the show we played at Sinister Noise on the 25th of November, during the beautiful gig we shared with Soul Of The
Cave and Deville.
2009 will be an important and intense year for North by Northwest. Be sure that we'll show up here soon with some really interesting news. In the meantime: Happy Holidays!

Giovedì 23 ottobre abbiamo suonato a Borgo Piave (LT) a El Paso Pub. Qui alcune foto della serata.
Martedì 25 novembre, inoltre, apriremo con i Soul Of The Cave il concerto degli svedesi Deville al Sinister Noise. Siateci in massa!!!

Per la data al Led Zep, dato che il buon Tigre se ne va in vacanza, ci
darà una sapiente mano al basso il nostro amico Maurizio Mancini (dei Jailbreak, oltre che il miscelatore del nostro demo). Ci vediamo lì!!!

Someone might have noticed that we have added two live dates for july: we will play at 40 Grados in Aprilia (LT) on July the 4th and at the beautiful Sinister Noise in Rome on July the 16th!

Salve! Dopo qualche mese di attesa ecco la news che tutti stavate impazientemente aspettando (vero?)!
I North by Northwest sono tornati un quartetto! Ad occupare il posto vacante di batterista è arrivato l'ottimo Fabio Luppi! Se volete saperne di più potete dare un'occhiata al suo myspace: http://www.myspace.com/luppifabio
Naturalmente ringraziamo tutti i batteristi che si sono proposti, e ci inchiniamo davanti a Matteo dei Mithra che ha suonato con noi al Jailbreak, quando eravamo senza batterista.
Ma non è finita qui: abbiamo una nuova data in cui ovviamente presenteremo Fabio in tutta la sua bravura.
Venerdì 23 suoneremo allo Zoobar (e, udite udite, la serata è OPEN BAR!), in via Bencivenga 1, insieme ai nostri amici Kamchatka (http://www.myspace.com/kamchatkaita), che ringraziamo per averci invitato a condividere la serata.

Thank you to all the drummers that offered their skills to the band, and the biggest thank you to Matteo from Mithra, who played with us at the Jailbreak gig.
We're not over: we have a new gig, so you immediately have the chance to see Fabio playing with us.
We will play at Zoobar (via Bencivenga 1, it is an OPEN BAR night!!!) with our friends Kamchatka (http://www.myspace.com/kamchatkaita), and we thank them for asking us to join the gig.

Grandi novità per chi legge queste news!!!
Cominciamo
dall'inizio: i North by Northwest si sono separati dal batterista
Eugenio. La ricerca del sostituto è in corso e speriamo di potervelo
annunciare al più presto.
Sabato 23 febbraio parteciperemo (in
veste acustica: tre chitarre e tre voci...) ad una serata organizzata
da Libera (http://www.libera.it) e Movimenti (http://www.movimenti.eu)
per la lotta contro le mafie. L'inizio è previsto per le 21 e l'evento
si svolgerà alle Officine Marconi (via Biagio Petrocelli). Avremo
l'onore di dividere il palco con gente del calibro di Francesco Di
Giacomo (del Banco del Mutuo Soccorso), Giovanna Marini, Ascanio
Celestini, Tetes de Bois, Ambrogio Sparagna e molti altri artisti ben
più grandi e navigati di noi...
Mercoledì 12 marzo il Jailbreak
ospiterà una grande serata progressive con i North by Northwest, i
Kedjai (http://www.myspace.com/kedjai3) e i Seventh Will

notte di martedì 4 dicembre alle 2.30 parteciperemo alla trasmissione
"Versione Beta" in onda su Radio2. Se c'è qualche sonnambulo in ascolto

After the summer and (short...) holidays we are starting to rehearse
and we will concentrate on our new material that we will soon play
live. New dates are also coming... so stay tuned!

Dopo i due concerti al Jailbreak e al Circolo degli Artisti, Federico
"Tigre" (spinto anche dalle suppliche del pubblico!) ha espresso la sua
ferma volontà di voler restare nel gruppo e noi non possiamo che
"riaccoglierlo" a braccia aperte!
Le "audizioni" per il nuovo
bassista sono quindi annullate (e non sono mai iniziate!), ringraziamo
ancora tutti i bassari che ci hanno scritto e ci scusiamo con loro per
avergli fatto perdere tutto questo tempo.
Dopo questo
"faticosissimo tour" le nostre prove saranno incentrate quasi
esclusivamente sui nuovi pezzi, vediamo un po' cosa salterà fuori.
Per ora è tutto, buoni esami e estate a tutti!

Grazie
mille a tutti i bassisti che hanno risposto al nostro annuncio! Non ci
aspettavamo assolutamente di ricevere cosi' tante email, il problema
ora sarà tentare di organizzare il tutto. Le prove con i vari bassisti
inizieranno da dopo il concerto del 29 Maggio al Jailbreak, cercheremo
di suonare con tutti nel più breve tempo possibile (esami
permettendo!), cercando di ripartire con la band entro settembre.
